Six high-quality commemorative coins are being issued by Philately Liechtenstein, and in conjunction with the Liechtenstein government, to mark the 100th Anniversary of the Swiss Franc in the Principality of Liechtenstein.
About the new 100 Years of the Swiss Franc in the Principality of Liechtenstein coins
The new coins, which include 4 gold and 2 silver, show a bird's eye view of the whole region of the Rhine Valley. The right side of the coin shows the Principality of Liechtenstein, whilst the left side shows the neighbouring country of Switzerland. The edges of the coin are engraved with the 11 municipalities of the Principality of Liechtenstein on the right and neighbouring municipalities on the left. The new coins can be purchased now from Philately Liechtenstein and are expected to ship from mid-September.

Gold coins in the 100 Years of the Swiss Franc in the Principality of Liechtenstein range
The new range of coins includes 2 gold coins, one with a face value of CHF 10 and the other with a face value of CHF 100. The smallest gold coin, the CHF 10, shows the relief of the Principality of Liechtenstein. The Rhine is shown in the centre and separates the Principality of Liechtenstein on the right and represented by the Princely coat of arms, from neighbouring Switzerland, which is represented by Swiss crosses on the left of the coin. The inscription on the CHF 10 is in German and reads: "100 Jahre Schweizer Franken im Fürstentum Liechtenstein" and has a fineness of 999.9/1000.

The second and most exclusive gold coin shows the Rhine Valley between Liechtenstein and Switzerland in striking detail. The Princely coat of arms is engraved on the reverse of the coin. On the edge of the Liechtenstein side of the coin, all 11 municipalities are engraved in the order of their geographical location. The Swiss side of the coin is engraved with the names of the neighbouring communities. The gold coin has a face value of CHF 100 and a purity of 999.9/1000.

Silver coins in the 100 Years of the Swiss Franc in the Principality of Liechtenstein range
The silver coins have been produced using smartminting® technology and realistic colouring and faithfully depict the Rhine Valley in fascinating detail. As with the CHF 100 gold coin, the Rhine Valley is featured in full colour in the centre with the Principality of Liechtenstein engraved on the right, whilst the cross of Switzerland is engraved on the left. The edge of the coin also features the names of all 11 municipalities of Liechtenstein in order of geographical location and neighbouring municipalities.

The four silver coins have denominations of CHF 5, CHF 25, CHF 50 and CHF 100 and a fineness of 999.9/1000. All four coins have a silk finish and come in different sizes.
