Corinphila Auctions in Zurich will be holding an auction week from 3rd – 8th June, offering a diverse range of stamps from around the world. This year’s Auction Week will feature a total of 12 auction catalogues, of which 11 are single owner sales.
What is Corinphila Auction Week?
Corinphila Auction Week is a seven-day event in Zurich which features a number of auction catalogues and a huge range of philatelic material. This year the event will take place from the 3rd – 8th June at Wiesenstrasse 8, 4th floor, Zurich.
From Monday May 13th previewing can be arranged of the larger sized lots during office hours.
How do I bid during Auction Week?
Auction Week will be held at Corinphila Auctions in Zurich, with bidding taking place both in person and online. You can register with Corinphila Auctions for online bidding and registration should be completed at least 24 hours before the auction begins.

What is available during Corinphila auction week?
During the course of Auction Week specialised stamp collections from Great Britain, British Commonwealth, Romania, Switzerland and Liechtenstein will be available to purchase. Other things on offer include items from worldwide postal history, rarities of the world plus a comprehensive collection of stamps from Panama, which covers the colonial period through to the building of the Panama Canal (1807 – 1904).
Other items available include a substantial catalogue of stamp issues from Europe and overseas including both stamp collections and single lots. Five ‘special’ sales are also up for grabs during Auction Week – the Lady McLeod issue, ‘unused’ Australian states, the 1850 6 cuartos black from Spain, the Mike Roberts Collection of African Airmail 1911-45 and the ‘Huntingfield Block’ which is Australia’s unissued Edward VIII stamp from 1936. which is perhaps one of the greatest rarities on Australian philately.

Other highlights include an example of Sweden’s famous first issue, the 3-skilling banco green, on cover, which has been underpaid by 1 skilling banco and used from ‘NEDER-KALIX 6/1 1858’. This is being offered as lot 5266 in part 1 of the Enzo Carnio Collection on 6th June 2024. The cover derives from a known provenance going back to Lars Hedberg (1955), Sven Sandstedt (1983) and Kersti Larsson (2004), all three of whom formed important collections and exhibits of Swedish traditional philately.
The Besançon collection of Great Britain, which is being auctioned on Wednesday 5th June, includes a full sheet of 12 of the 1840 1d Rainbow Trial (state 3b). Printed in pale red-brown on thin wove paper, it has a watermark on one side of the sheet.
