The 6th coin in The Royal Mint’s collection commemorating the films of James Bond celebrated the memorable Bond films from the 2010s.
About the Bond Films of the 2010s coin
The reverse of the new £5 coin depicts the snow plane from the 2015 Bond film Spectre. The background of the coin shows the titles of each of the decades Bond films behind it and surrounding the central design is the signature gun barrel used in the opening of every Bond film. The reverse design is completed by the 007 logo which has been styled as it would have appeared throughout the 2010s.

Collectors can buy the new Bond Films of the 2010s coin directly from The Royal Mint, with prices starting at £15.50 for a Brilliant Uncirculated Coin. Previous coin releases in the Six Decades of 007, which commemorate each decade of Bond beginning with the 1960s, can also be purchased from The Royal Mint to complete your collection.
The Royal Mint have also released gold and silver bullion for the 1960s and 1970s Bond films. The silver bullion is limited to 100,000 coins worldwide, whilst the gold bullion is limited to 5,000 coins worldwide.

Bond films of the 2010s
As we entered the 2010s, the role of James Bond was played by Daniel Craig who had played Bond in Casino Royale (2006) and Quantum of Solace (2008). Skyfall followed in 2012 and went on to become the first Bond film to gross more than $1 billion worldwide. The second Bond film of the 2010s was Spectre, released in 2015, once again starring Craig. This film was extra special for long-time fans as the film featured the return of classic Bond film, Ernst Stavro Blofeld, played by Christoph Waltz.

Completing Craig’s tenure as 007, No Time To Die was due to be released in 2019, but the film release was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. No Time To Die was officially released in September 2021 in 772 cinemas nationwide, which was a UK record. Despite wins at the Academy Awards, BAFTAs and Golden Globes, the film will always be remembered for it dramatic conclusion and satisfying ending for Craig’s tenure as the famous James Bond.
