Drawing on Disney's Lion King, the coin reflects nature's balance of giving and taking back

In the 90s classic Lion King, Musafa explained to Simba how how everything in nature exists in a delicate balance – and how when something dies, it gives birth to something new.
The design of this beautiful new coin created by CIT for the Cook Islands expresses the idea of the circles of life with a design that fuses a human fingerprint with the annual growth rings of a tree, symbolising the need for balance, respect and mutual support between humankind and nature.
