Guernsey Post’s philatelic bureau has issued Bailiwick Christmas stamps depicting scenes from the story of Jesus’s birth, as described in the gospels of Matthew and Luke.
Guernsey’s stamps (51p, 56p, 79p, 87p, £1.21, £1.39, £1.50 and £4.93) have been created by talented artist and book illustrator, Alexandra Ball, whose particular style brings a contemporary feel to the Nativity story.
Meanwhile, Martin Hargreaves’ designs for the Alderney set (51p, 56p, 79p, 87p, £1.21, £1.39, £1.50 and £4.93) reveal his passion for Renaissance art.
Bridget Yabsley, Guernsey Post’s head of philatelic, said:
