Jersey Stamps have issued a new set of definitive stamps on 28th May to mark the reign of King Charles III.

The new King Charles III definitive stamps feature the crest of Jersey and a portrait of His Majesty King Charles III. The new set of definitive stamps have 10 values which range from 1p to £1. The crest, which was originally featured on the definitives issued in 2015, has been redesigned to include the official cypher of HM King Charles III as well as the crest of Jersey. The names of all 12 of Jersey’s parishes have also been incorporated into the background of the crest.

In keeping with previous definitive stamp issues, Jersey has produced a new £5 stamp in a larger format. This stamp, the design of which was first seen on a miniature sheet of the Coronation issue of November 2023, features a portrait of HM King Charles III. The portrait has been produced by renowned stamp artist Martin Mörck, based on a portrait by Mario Testino. The background of the stamp featuring King Charles III features a floral pattern, which echoes His Majesty’s commitment to the environment.

What is a definitive stamp?

The last definitive stamp issue was released by Jersey Post in 2015. The latest 2024 issue has been developed to update the 2015 design and represent the reign of King Charles III. Definitive stamps are designed to serve every day postal needs and as a result they have an extended sale period, unlike commemorative stamps, which are only available for 2 years.
